Pet Safety Technology Start-up - One of Final 6 in 2013 TechFlash Cup

ISSAQUAH, Wash. -- After competing for weeks within a group of 16 Seattle finalists, PetHub, Inc., entered the last week of the competition as one of the six remaining competitors. On Monday, October 28, 2013, the Final 4 will be named after the last two companies with the least votes are eliminated from the competition.

The prize for being one of the Final Four? An opportunity to pitch their business plan, on stage, in front of a live audience, to a panel of five judges, all of whom are Seattle-area angel and venture capital investors.

Voting is easy. Those interesting in casting a vote for one or more companies may learn more at http://PetHub.com/vote.

"It's been a fun event! Seattle is one of the 3 best cities in the U.S. to start a tech company," noted Tom Arnold, Founder of PetHub, citing a July 17, 2013, Geekwire.com article by John Cook. "Not only do we have a presence from tech companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Facebook, we have a large contingent of successful tech entrepreneurs who are willing to take the time to give advice and sometimes help fund a vision."

Anyone can vote in the competition, "from startup culture junkies to wannabe techies and everyone in between," said Jenn Banday, Social Engagement Manager at the Puget Sound Business Journal. "This competition is about supporting local entrepreneurs and businesses. A range of products and industries are represented among the contenders. You don’t even need to know a thing about startups -- you just need to know a good idea when you see one."

The two companies with the least number of votes will be eliminated every Monday morning at 9am. The final four remaining companies will participate in a "live pitch competition" at the TechFlash Cup Finals on November 21.

"It's an exciting opportunity and we, of course, hope to be one of the final four," said Arnold. "We need people to take a moment and go vote for PetHub at http://PetHub.com/vote. Every vote really does make a difference!"

About PetHub
PetHub gets lost pets home faster than any other solution currently available. In 2012, of the PetHub "pack members" that went missing, 97% of those animals were home in less than 1-day, and 25% of them in less than an hour (many times before the owner even knew they were missing). PetHub accomplishes this through wireless digital ID tags, GPS services, an "Amber Alert for Pets" feature, and utilizing anyone with a mobile device (including "smartphone" or "old school" phones).
