FishingQuestions is a community based questions and answers website for anglers. Use our points system to earn reputation within the community by posting questions, answers and comments.

The community is now open for anyone who has an interest in fishing from beginners to seasoned anglers you are all welcome, so long as your polite and patient with the other users in the community.

To use the website you must register an account, this will give you the ability to post questions, answers and comments. Whenever you post, points will be awarded which will also increase your user level, this gives other users an idea of how much value you have contributed to the community. You can also be awarded badges for completing certain tasks such as; viewing 100 posts, uploading an avatar, asking 100 questions e.t.c. Your public profile will be displayed for other users who can, view your statistics, post on your wall and private message you.

To gain points, titles/levels and reputation within the community you need to post questions, answers and comments in a patient and polite way. Other users can vote up or down on your posts which will either increase or decrease your points. The more points you get the higher your public profile will be on the top users page, when your points are at a certain level your title will also change to the next level, these levels run from 'Level 1 – Small Fry' to 'Master Level - Lake Legend'.

To post a question you need to add a title which describes what your asking in one complete sentence, you can add even more details in the content field. To help other users find your question you choose a category and some tags (carp, mirror, bait). Your question will then be posted on the website for other users to answer, comment and vote on. When you think someone has completely answered your question you check it as the best answer and the user will gain some points.

You answer questions in roughly the same way but with no title, you should only answer a question if you think current answers are not explained correctly, otherwise just up-vote the current answer you agree with instead. This stops the questions getting filled up with answers, bogged down and starting to work like a forum.

Over the past few weeks the website has grown at an incredible rate with users joining up everyday who have been posting some very valuable content on the website. We have had some very good feedback on the system, layout and ease of use so if you enjoy fishing and would like to promote safety within, join in with the community and start sharing your knowledge with budding anglers. Or if you have some questions and need some help from friendly, polite and patient anglers check out the website when you have a few minutes read the website features, rules and create an account.
