BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Fashion and glam squad KS Styling Team has officially made it onto the silver screen. The award-winning image makers have been brought in to work on three separate film productions over the past few months and are making strides to expand their presence in the film industry throughout 2014.
The team has already gained a venerable reputation in editorial and high fashion arenas, as well as placements in print, digital and video media campaigns with such companies as Scripps Network, ABC Family and Target. They can now add upcoming film Dear White People and other films produced by 8th Street Productions and 46th Street Films to their credits.
“We’re really excited for this opportunity to strategically expand our on-camera work into film,” said KS Styling Team founder Kimberly Steward. “While the team has been fortunate to work on numerous music and advertising video projects, branching out into feature-lengths and shorts allows us to focus our skills on image continuity, character development, and on-going storylines.”
Steward has 15 years experience in the image marketing, fashion and beauty industries. Her hand-selected team is comprised of emerging and established beauty professionals who are at the top of their class and poised to climb even higher. The team’s members include hair/makeup artists Bailey and Tashonda Brown, wardrobe stylist Darnell Steele, and makeup (SFX) artist and wardrobe assistant Tray Styles.
“I am thankful to industry veterans like Robb Kelly and Mary Flaa who have entrusted me to successfully take the lead in doing what I love,” said Steward. “It is also rewarding to be able to bring on members of the KS team in support of the overall productions. This can only further establish our brand as the go-to team for executing makeup, hair and wardrobe styling.”
KS Styling Team is currently preparing to work on their next on-location film short with Electric Heart Media in November. Visit http://ksstylingteam.com to learn more about their projects and view their upcoming release schedule.
