SEATTLE -- Emergency Medicine Scribe Systems, a Los Angeles based medical transcription company, will be showcasing at the 2013 ACEP (American College of Emergency Physicians) Scientific Assembly in Seattle, October 14-17.

The ACEP annual conference features the largest selection of emergency medicine courses and topics for healthcare professionals nationwide. Attending physicians will learn the latest trends and key issues facing doctors today.

“We are very excited to be a part of this year’s event,” says Garret Erskine, President of Emergency Medicine Scribe Systems (EMSS). “With the upcoming legislation that requires all patient records to be electronic, it’s essential that physicians become aware of the benefits of a scribe program.”

EMR implementation costs millions upfront but it’s the millions in lost productivity that can be prevented with scribes, according to Erskine.

“Our scribes take care of all documentation on the EMR so physicians don’t have to learn a whole new charting system,” says Erskine. “It allows them to focus on patient care but also assures them their charts are going to be complete and accurate at the end of their shift.”

Scribes are typically undergraduate students who use the position to gain experience for medical or nursing school.

EMSS will be presenting at booth #1019 for the duration of the event. Physicians will have the opportunity to learn more about scribes and how they can help offset the cost of EMR implementation. EMSS will also provide demonstrations on their new customer service mobile app.
