Modish Living, a British furniture maker who focuses on sourcing reclaimed timber, has introduced their first blanket box to their Bremnes range. A trunk that is handmade from 150 year old reclaimed wood.
The elegant and contemporary wood collections are driven by the Co-founder, Hellen Barlow, who’s roots are from Norway. “Finding practical and beautiful wood designs is what drives me, I want to share my passion for wood, whilst minimising the environmental impact through sourcing old reclaimed timber ” says Barlow.
The blanket box represents an ageless design. The wood throughout is used as a feature, detailing the organic beauty of the timber used. Much of its character and unique texture comes from the scars of its previous industrial use.
Handcrafted in the UK by their skilled carpenters, the reclaimed wood is sourced locally, with a view to minimising any impact on the environment.
The Bremnes blanket box seen here is an example of pure elegance in the finishing touches, which feature heavily in Scandinavian designs.
