Dropmysite, the startup aiming to backup the Internet, launches white-labelling for its automatic website/database backup service. This will help its global network of resellers to maximise profits and move sales even faster.
By white-labelling Dropmysite, resellers like hosting companies can rebrand and sell the service as their own. The biggest benefit to resellers on white labelling is increasing profits. As it enables resellers to build their own brand, sell directly on their websites and benefit from any repeat business.
“We offer resellers an important and new value added service that helps them increase their ARPU,” says John Leung, VP of Sales Asia, Dropmysite. “In return, resellers affords us access to an existing and loyal large customer base which is critical to deploying and scaling or solutions”
When done properly, resellers will capitalize on their existing territory, client base or market to promote the website and database backup service beyond Dropmysite’s capability (or money) and reach. This platform is also making it much simpler for Dropmysite’s existing reseller deals with GMO Cloud, Xpress Hostings and others to integrate.
To assist in the easy white-labelling process, Dropmysite launched the API in PHP language, since the majority of web hosting companies support PHP by default. Any company with PHP knowledge should be able to use the white-label API and implement Dropmysite with their own branding, own images, own layout, etc.
Besides that, Dropmysite also prepared plugins to c-Panel and Parallel Plesk. Resellers mainly use these platforms so that their clients can easily setup websites on their own without knowing all the technical aspects of it. Once the Dropmysite plugins are installed on the respective platforms, the clients can access all Dropmysite's functionalities from within c-Panel / Plesk interface without leaving the page.
By doing so, Dropmysite has basically extended the feature of each platform. Another way to see it, these plugins are similar to apps on Apple Store or Play Store. Once installed on the phone, users can access the site from within their phone without using a desktop or laptop.
After signing up on Dropmysite’s reseller page, http://www.dropmysite.com/resellers, there are a few examples on how to use the white-label API in PHP, cPanel and Plesk.
In the future, as the reseller program continues to pick up momentum, Dropmysite will continue to adding more examples and programming languages. In the works are a Python, Javascript and eventually a Ruby-On-Rails version.
“We have worked hard on the APIs, C-panel and Parallels platforms to enable seamless integration for resellers. It’s a great product and proposition for their customers,” says Leung.
