The Kim Foundation (http://www.thekimfoundation.org (http://www.thekimfoundation.org/)), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those impacted by mental illness, has named Julia Hebenstreit as its executive director.
In her role, Hebenstreit oversees all advocacy and awareness efforts, builds and maintains relationships with key community partners, and manages the day-to-day functions of the foundation, including the grant process, communications, and speaking engagements.
“We are fortunate to have Julia in this vital role as The Kim Foundation continues to expand its work as a connector, a resource, and a catalyst for change within the mental health arena,” said the organization’s founder, Larry Courtnage. “Julia’s passion for our mission and the fresh ideas she brings to the table will enable us to continue making strides on behalf of those living with mental illness.”
Previously administrative director of The Kim Foundation, Hebenstreit brings to her role a wealth of leadership experience within the non-profit sector. She holds a J.D. from the Creighton University School of Law.
“I am very excited to take the reins as the executive director of The Kim Foundation. The rich history and connections of the foundation are essential building blocks to move us forward with a more targeted focus and new initiatives,” said Hebenstreit. “Through our efforts, we will be supporting innovative, sustainable programming in our community that focuses on prevention and early intervention of mental health services, while building awareness of this too often stigmatized topic.”
