JOHANNESBURG, South Africa -- Randburg residents who are looking for more than just a meal are getting their wish as Motlanalo and Thana Khumalo have recently opened a new Maxi’s restaurant in the area.
This dynamic duo previously owned a small takeaway business but now decided to take on their bigger business dream of owning a franchise. Thana believes that the key elements and the recipe for success are simple, “I believe that becoming the community’s favourite choice of restaurant will be achieved through good management, which means being hands on and getting involved in the day to day running of the business. Hard work, dedication and to be passionate about what you are doing is all a person needs to succeed when they feel that their dreams are their life purpose.”
Bronwyn Oliveira, Maxi’s brand manager, is equally excited about the new additions to the Maxi’s family, “As Motlanalo and Thana Khumalo have previously been involved in the food industry, they already know the ins and outs of what is expected from consumers which will only assist them in making a success out of their store. We look forward to having them as part of the Taste Holdings family and wish them all the best.”
Now that the Khumalo family have accomplished their dream of owning a store, their goals have shifted and they are now committed to being rated amongst the top franchisees in the brand network. The couple believes they will accomplish this goal by not only being excellent managers, but by acknowledging their employees and introducing staff incentives to help keep them motivated and dedicated to the store’s success.
Thana lives by the philosophy that whatever a person does in life needs to be done successfully the first time around, as if they don’t factors such as damage control and costs come into play which could have been avoided in the first place. The Khumalo family are committed to getting things right the first time and look forward to expanding their franchising dream to include other stores in the future.
“We are excited and proud to be able to serve the local residents in our community. We look forward to welcoming them in store to enjoy more than just a meal with us,’ concludes Thana.
