The Australia-based company, TrakVan, has rolled out a new web service that musicians can use to promote and sell music on their own websites or embed videos on social media websites to sell from there.

With the service, artists can promote and sell singles, EPs or entire albums. EPs require a minimum of four tracks and albums must include ten or more songs. Artists can set their own prices, although the minimum price is 0.99 Australian Dollars (AUD) for singles and 9.99 AUD for albums. Musicians retain the rights to their songs and can still sell them on other websites.

The company offers a free webpage for each album or single uploaded. However, artists are also free to use the music player online to embed their songs on other sites. Visitors simply press the "buy" button to purchase the selected track or album as an MP3 file.

TrakVan's app does not require software installation and all updates are free and automatic. The company also offers unlimited uploads by artists and unlimited downloads by customers in order to maximize sales and exposure for musicians.

While based in Sydney, TrakVan has made the application available to musicians anywhere in the world. Payments are made through Paypal and can be sent when an artist reaches the 100 AUD thresholds. Commission is only charged upon sale, so artists can try out the app with no risk.

In order to help artists promote their albums, TrakVan provides coupons that musicians can print out and pass out to potential customers. In turn, customers can receive discounts when buying tracks or albums by a particular artist. TrakVan monitors all sales, including those with coupons, so musicians can adjust how they market their music.

TrakVan produces a variety of web apps, including the app to embed a music player online, to help independent musicians optimize and better monetize their songs online.
