the Low Back Pain Patient Guide appeared on the Journal of the American Medical Association. With it was a positive comment about how chiropractic care can benefit patients suffering from low back pain.
A part in the Treatment section states: “Many treatments are available for low back pain. Often exercises and physical therapy can help. Some people benefit from chiropractic therapy or acupuncture. Sometimes medications are needed, including analgesics (painkillers) or medications that reduce inflammation. Surgery is not usually needed but may be considered if other therapies have failed.” The Guide is recommended to be distributed to their patients.
The inclusion of chiropractic care in the Journal of the American Medical Association is a milestone for the chiropractic community. This reflects that this type of approach for low back pain is now being acknowledged even by the medical community, giving chiropractics an emerging role in spine care.
Dr. Henry Rice of ChiroCarolina is happy to see the change in how people now see chiropractic care. He looks forward to the growing recognition for chiropractic.
