JOHANNESBURG, South Africa -- There are people who live for the challenge of setting goals and working tirelessly to meet them. Veenash Parbhoo is that kind of person. The Heidelberg businessman, owner of two other successful franchise restaurants, and the new owner of Scooters Pizza Heidelberg, has set himself the task of building THE pizza franchise in the Gauteng town.
“It’s not just about making my business a success. I want to make the best pizza in Heidelberg,” he says explaining the primary goal he has set himself.
The good reputation of Scooters Pizza is what attracted him to the franchise, however, he admits that if you don’t build your own reputation from the ground up, the quality and good name associated with the brand will be meaningless.
As an established entrepreneur with a proven track record in the fast food industry, Veenash is aware of the long hours and hard work that goes into making a business a success. There are no shortcuts to accomplishing his ambition but Veenash would not have it any other way. “It’s easy to make a quick buck but I rather want to look back at having grown a successful franchise and know that I’ve built something of value through hard work and dedication.”
Over and above commitment, he has identified other important elements that go into making any business a success, including management, strong financial controls, and innovative products coupled with superior service. However, in his eyes the most important ingredient in his recipe to success is a motivated and happy employee.
Rewarding his staff for their efforts makes good business sense to Veenash. “It’s important to me that my staff see me as part of the team, so I’m only as hands on as I need to be. They are motivated to find solutions without looking to me all the time, and because of this, we’ve created an atmosphere where success is shared.”
His attitude to management is also guided by his personal philosophy that good deeds are good for the soul. “I don’t believe success should be measured by money. The joy you bring to someone else’s life is what really matters. ‘Follow your passion and try to make a difference’ is the best advice I ever received.”
CEO of Taste Holdings, Carlo Gonzaga is excited that someone with Veenash’s entrepreneurial skill has joined the Scooters Pizza family.
“With Veenash’s business and franchise experience, the commitment from his professional and vibrant crew, and with the support he will receive from Taste Holdings, I have no doubt that Scooters Pizza Heidelberg will build an enthusiastic and dedicated customer base to drive long term success.”
Veenash concludes that he looks forward to sinking his teeth into this new challenge. “I want Scooters Pizza Heidelberg to become the preferred take-away of choice in my community. Now there’s just the small matter of making it happen,” an invigorated Veenash chuckles.
