What's Wrong With Mammography?

LOS ANGELES, California -- Mammography is undoubtedly one of the most popular modalities of preventive medicine. But according to a three year investigation, culminating in the just released (e)book The Mammogram Myth: The Independent Investigation Of Mammography The Medical Profession Doesn't Want You To Know About, mammograms are neither safe nor (very) beneficial.

The official claims made by the medical profession about mammography appear convincing to both doctors and the public at large. Yet, the theory and claims promoting the screening practice are based on flawed research data and sustained by omitting and ignoring relevant scientific evidence. It's a case of "dogma over science", says Rolf Hefti, the author of The Mammogram Myth.

The disregarded, "inconvenient" facts reveal unequivocally that mammograms are much more likely to harm a woman than ever save her life according to "The Mammogram Myth". In the ebook Rolf Hefti noted that "The interaction with the unaccountable, self-regulating business called “modern medicine” is analogous to buying a used car from a stranger: you never really know what you're getting because of the things you're not being told. And what is not being disclosed can (seriously) hurt you."

In the (e)book's foreword, biologist Ray Peat, PhD remarked, "The Mammogram Myth is very very good, so much more than just a study of mammograms. Women concerned about the risk of breast cancer will obviously want to read it, and if doctors who regularly advise their patients to have mammograms decide to read it looking for justification of their policy, they will encounter information about cancer in general and health in general that should change their life."

Also, the (e)book reveals what the dominant breast cancer causes are and discusses the value of alternative breast exams, how they compare to mammography, and the prime "handicap" all methods of medical screening are affected with.
