JOSEPH SUTTON - Education Can Bridge The Gap Between Whites and Blacks - Joseph Sutton went to the University of Oregon in 1960 on a football scholarship. It was at college that he decided he was going to be a writer. After graduating with degrees in philosophy and history, he joined the Coast Guard Reserve. After completing six months of active duty, Sutton earned a secondary teaching credential at Cal State Los Angeles. He then started teaching social studies at Fremont High School in South Central Los Angeles. Five years later, in 1969, he quit the teaching profession to follow his dream of becoming a writer.

NANCY LARONDA JOHNSON - Anticipation of the Penitent - Nancy LaRonda Johnson is a passionate writer of horror, sci-fi and wonderment. She has written short stories, poetry and personal journals most of her life, and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a Juris Doctorate. Her first book, the literary speculative novel, "Anticipation of the Penitent", reached the finals in the Indie Publishing Contest sponsored by the San Francisco Writer's Conference 2012, and is receiving high acclaim. "Salted With Fire", a book of flash fiction and poetry, is her second publication. She is working on several projects, including a sequel to "Anticipation of the Penitent".
