Aruba Hotels Win International Accolades

Aruba’s ranking as a world-class tourism destination has been underlined with a raft of international accolades for its hotels’ quality.

Six properties have been awarded TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence for 2013-14, while other honours have come for sustainable tourism and beach quality.

To qualify for a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, hotels must maintain an average rating of four or higher out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on the site. This recognition has gone to Aruba’s Divi Mega Resort and its sister Tamarijn Mega Resort, together with the Radisson Aruba, the Renaissance Aruba Resort and the Boardwalk Hotel, a boutique property 200 yards from the island’s renowned Palm Beach.

Meanwhile, La Cabana Beach Resort and Casino also gained the TripAdvisor recognition, as well as a platinum certificate, representing 10 years of continuous certification as an Earth Check resort. This places La Cabana among a unique group of worldwide sustainable tourism companies committed to sustainable practices.

On a different note, Aruba’s Eagle Beach has been ranked No.3 in the Caribbean’s best walking beaches, as rated by Caribbean Journal, the region’s leading digital newspaper, covering more than 20 countries and territories.

Making the award, Caribbean Journal said: ‘Aruba is about the colour of the sand, the combination of the water and the island’s special light. Eagle Beach is an ideal place to take it all in and being in the low rise hotel district makes the vistas that much better.’
