Working Principle

decanter centrifuge employs the same principles of gravitational force, However, the process is expedited through the use of continuous rotation. Decanter centrifuges work by using a centrifugal force to presses the solid particles outside against a rotating bowl, while the less dense liquid phase forms a concentric inner layer. The solid particles are continuously removed by a screw conveyor, which rotates at a bit slower speed than the bowl. The solids are compacted and discharged from the bowl. Baffles in the centrifuge casing channel the separate phases into the correct flow path. The speed of the screw conveyor can be automatically adjusted by use of a variable frequency motor to adjust the variation of the solids load.
