ET Edge, an initiative of Economic Times presented the Architecture & Design Summit 2013 and brought together leading architects and designers in Ahmedabad on 2nd August 3013 to deliberate on the current trends, opportunities and innovations revolving around the theme “Designs matching pace with rapid development”. The forum witnessed senior industry veterans including Sunil Mantri, Mantri Realities; Zubin Zainuddin & Partner, ZZ Architects; Anand Tatu, IIA; Abhishek Somany Somany ceramics; Jaxay Shah, Savvy Infrastructures; & Kunal Patel, HCP Design Planning and Management.
The key conclusions from a session moderated by Mr. Sunil Mantri suggested speedy approvals, empowering more rights to architects, standardisation of rules across the country, &incorporating new technologies to speed up processes. These suggestions were seconded by the fraternity present at the forum. In fact Ar. Zubin Zainuddin highlighted the fact the projects executed in Gujarat in recent times witness innovation as key factor in taking designing to the next level.
Mr. Abhishek Somany emphasised that the role of technology is crucial for the designing fraternity and this stands true for product manufacturers as well. He stressed that regular interface between the developers and architects could bring in suitable transformation strategies for this community.
The entire session enlightened elements on the current challenges and future prospects for architects and designers. This was the first summit on this segment by ET Edge in Ahmedabad which will soon be followed with meets in Pune, Indore and Nashik. The colossal summit which will witness the biggest names in Architecture and design from the country will be held in the commercial capital, Mumbai, on the 29th of August 2013.
