Miller Homes Offers Welcome Boost to Yorkshire Sports Clubs

DONCASTER, U.K. -- To celebrate another magnificent summer of sport across the UK, Miller Homes is giving local sports clubs throughout the region a chance to win £500.

Following on from the success of a pilot initiative last summer, the leading UK house builder is again urging clubs and organisations inthe region to enter the competition by collecting an application form from one of the Miller Homes developments across the region.

To be in with a chance of winning entrants have to say in no more than 200 words why their sports club deserves to win the money, how it will benefit the club and what it will be spent on.

Steve McElroy Sales Director of Miller Homes Yorkshire, said: “When it comes to supporting local communities, we are always keen to get involved – particularly if our support will provide opportunities for education, sport or development. Building great communities is at the heart of our ethos, and we believe that initiatives such as our Summer of Sport campaign go a long way towards nurturing these.

“Our judge, ex-England and Leeds United football player Paul Reaney, will be looking for examples of how the sporting clubs in our communities will make the most out of our donation, for details of how it will directly support the learning and fitness for its members and examples of what new equipment they will be able to buy.

“We strongly encourage anyone with an affiliation to a sports team or club to have a go, and wish all entrants the very best of luck.”

Last year 'Kool Kayakers' from Doncaster were the lucky winners, who used the money to invest in buoyancy aids and training for its volunteer staff.

Details of the initiative will be distributed at a local level among sports clubs and associations; however community leaders and club managers can also pick up an entry form at any one of Miller Homes’ marketing suites.

The closing date for entries is Sunday 1st September 2013, giving applicants plenty of time to prepare a winning application.
