PASADENA, Calif. -- Monet Cares Musical Theater And Health Institute Returns To Benefit Girls Age 12-17 August 2-4, 2013.
Actor Carlon Jeffery best known as Cameron Parks on the Disney Channel show "A.N.T. Farm" will be among the guests attending a performance Showcase for the Monet Cares Musical Theater & Health Institute on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. Monet Cares, a non-profit organization started by 2012 Miss Los Angeles County, Monet Bagneris, is sponsoring the three-day Institute August 2nd through 4th to enhance the lives of youth in our communities. Others who will attend the Institute include representatives from Let's Move! Hollywood, former Veteran of the Year Amanda Wirtz, stuntswoman and business owner Natascha Hopkins, a health educator from the City of Hope, L.A. Superior Court Judge Patricia J. Titus, and other surprise guests.
The Institute will include training in the performing arts, hands-on activities with healthy meals, fitness training and motivational panels. Voice, dance, fitness and drama coaches will work with the girls and prepare them for participating in the Showcase Presentation. California Pizza Kitchen will provide a hands-on cooking demonstration, a panel of college students and recent grads will answer questions, and women in various careers will serve on the "Motivating Me" panel. Healthy meals will be provided to the girls throughout the Institute. The Institute will inspire participants in a safe, nurturing environment, to increase self-confidence, positive thinking, and to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. Monet believes that “girls need to find value within themselves and recognize their true potential, in order to be self-sufficient and strong-willed leaders of the future.” Registration is still open for girls who desire to participate.
The Showcase will also include a Silent Auction, which will begin on-line on Wednesday, July 31st, and among other prizes, will include a two-night stay package at the Langham Huntington Hotel, a Rose Bowl surprise, Irwindale Speedway tickets, restaurant gift cards, and much more. The Showcase will also feature a special musical performance by the Monet Cares founder, Monet Bagneris. The Showcase is open to the public. Monet Cares is an organization that is based in the notion that it takes a village to raise a child. The motto is "Their Life, Your Hands: Promoting Healthy Lifestyles for Our Youth." The aim of Monet Cares is to provide resources, training and education to children and their families to eliminate disparities and expand knowledge of healthy lifestyles and the performing arts to bridge the achievement gap. Monet Cares encourages all participants to push forward with their whole heart and move forward with compassion, dedication leadership, and a strong sense of self and community. There will be an Institute later this year that will be formiddle and high school age boys.
