ADELAIDE, Australia -- Adelaide homeowners can now see the captivating range of Renaza wall and ceiling tiles produced by Australian manufacturer Bella Lujo at the Ceramica Tile + Design showroom in Welland.
These stunningly contemporary and innovative tiles are made from reclaimed boat timber and have a unique and distinctive look that can be used in many different types of design concepts.
“Renaza is Spanish for ‘reborn’,” said Anita Sweeting of Ceramica Tile + Design, “and that it exactly what these tiles are. They’re made from hundred-year-old hardwoods like teak and mulberry that have already been used to make boats, and so in this way they’re getting a second life as beautiful and decorative tiles.”
The Renaza collections are truly unique and create highly distinctive and personalised mosaic designs. “Because of the variations in the textures and colours of the wood,” added Anita Sweeting, “these tiles add individual character to any room, and can mange to look stunningly modern and traditional at the same time. This is because the timber is over a century old and has been used all that time, so it’s strong and practical yet visually engaging and decorative. They look great on the walls and ceilings of homes, offices, or retail spaces.”
Ceramica Tile + Design stock both the Rustico and Silva collections of Renaza tiles.
Tiles in the Rustico range have undergone minimal tooling and finishing, and this unpolished appearance means that the character of the wood is clear to see. They have a slightly rough, unfinished look, which makes them perfect for adding a natural, untouched feel to any room in the house.
In the Silva collection, however, the tiles are more polished and sleek. “These look great in just about any type of design concept,” said Anita Sweeting, “from traditional country-style homes to ultra-chic inner-city open plan apartments. They are extremely elegant because the grains of the wood are highlighted, and they really suit most types of modern interiors.”
Two mosaic tiles sizes are available — 300mm x 300mm and 600mm x 300mm — and they come in different depths, ranging from 8mm to 30mm.
Anita Sweeting added, “We also really value the fact that Renaza tiles are produced entirely from reclaimed timber and that no trees have been cut down to make them, and this has been certified by CSIRO.” In addition, Renaza tiles do not present a safety hazard as they conform to Fire Standard AS/NZS3837 and contain no dangerous or hazardous materials.
“For a really unique, customised look produced from natural materials, Renaza timber tiles are both innovative and affordable,” said Anita Sweeting. “We encourage customers who are interested in them to come in to our Welland showroom and have a look at the tiles we have on display. We’re always happy to share our experience and expertise with customers, and to show them how best to use these imaginative and intriguing tiles in their own design concepts.”
