The competition is co-sponsored by The Asian American Film Lab, Asian CineVision and the A/P/A Institute at New York University as part of the 36th Annual Asian American International Film Festival.

A staged reading of Isaac's screenplay will be presented as part of AAIFF on August 1, at the A/P/A Institute at New York University, 8 Washington Mews, NY, NY 10003 at 5:00pm. The reading will be presented in the Asian American Film Lab’s signature “Unfinished Works” style, which allows the audience to participate in the creative process. Those interested in attending can contact Asian CineVision.

From Asian American Film Lab's announcement: Unfinished Works Coordinator, Lorna Nowve, who will be moderating the event, enthused, “The audience will be riveted by this year's screenplay reading. Isaac Ho's The Chinese Delivery Man has the winning combination of drama, social relevance, and brilliant dialogue. We are honored to bring this important new work to light.”

"The Chinese Delivery Man" is inspired by the real life murders of Chinese delivery men and follows the story of the Lau family, owners of a Chinese take out restaurant reeling from the murder. While grappling to keep their restaurant afloat, the Lau family must survive New York's criminal court system to find justice or revenge, whichever comes first. The novel is available for purchase on Amazon.com.

"Understanding begins by demanding the right to tell our own stories both as a community and as individuals," says Isaac.

Isaac is also the author of "The Repatriation of Henry Chin", "Death in Chinatown" and "Hell is Full of Strippers", all published by Digital Fabulists and available on Amazon.com.
