NORCROSS, Ga. -- James Madison High School, the accredited online high school associated with Ashworth College, has announced Lisa Prince Rutsky has been selected as the new school principal.
Lisa’s responsibilities as principal of James Madison High School include providing vision, leadership and strategic planning to help guide the development of the high school, as well as instructional leadership, oversight and guidance to academic operations and product development. She is also responsible for reviewing student performance data in order to develop and implement programs for improving student success. All of these responsibilities lead to the eventual goal of helping students earn their online high school diploma.
An Atlanta area local, Lisa attended Georgia State University where she earned both her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology and her Master of Education (M.Ed.) in School Psychology. In 2005, she was the first teacher hired to teach for James Madison High School Online which, at the time, was separate from the correspondence high school.
After three months in that position, Lisa was promoted to Assistant Principal of James Madison High School Online; a position she held for roughly 18 months before leaving to pursue online teaching and consulting opportunities in higher education.
After working in an array of well-known online schools, including DeVry University, she returned to JMHS as the Vice Principal of Instruction in January 2013.
“I am excited to return to a program that I helped launch and while our student population, curriculum and technology have evolved and changed, our mission remains the same,” Lisa said. “We empower students to achieve their aspirations through flexible, convenient, affordable, and highly relevant educational programs.”
Rob Klapper, Ashworth College President and CEO, commented, “We are proud to have Lisa back with us as the principal of James Madison High School. I know she will continue her hard work and dedication to make our students successful.”
