Academy Award-winning creature designer-turned-director, Tom Woodruff Jr., releases the first look into the new demon fantasy franchise, “Fire City.” The foremost global website for all things horror, DreadCentral.com, will premiere Woodruff’s short film, “Fire City: King of Miseries”, in the coming weeks. A comic book featuring its characters will be available online in conjunction with the premiere. The short sets up the first feature length film, entitled “Fire City: The Interpreter of Signs.”
Woodruff partners with first-time Writer-Producers, and creators of the world, Brian Lubocki & Michael Hayes, who promise fans a brand new mythology of demons with decades-worth of content. That content includes a trilogy to follow “The Interpreter of Signs,” video games, a demon book compendium, and a fully realized demon tarot card set that is featured in the upcoming short film. Promotional footage from the world of Fire City made a big splash at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, but the producers said, “There was no deal available where we could maintain the creative choices necessary to ensure a great film. We didn’t want to compromise our world.”
The film is produced under Lubocki & Hayes’ banner, Okay By Me Productions. The comic book is illustrated by RPG video game artist, Kurt Komoda.
