Edward J. Doherty Celebrates a Career in Human Resources and Leadership Development

JEFFERSON, MA, January 17, 2025 - Edward J. Doherty has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Doherty is a distinguished consultant and principal at Ambrose Landen LLC, where he has been serving since 2020. In his role, he advises chief executive officers on strategy, incentive plans, people development and strategic initiatives. He recently served as an interim chief human resources officer for a 600-employee agency in Cincinnati.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Doherty held several positions including Executive Director of Market Development at March of Dimes in New England from 2006 to 2020. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in advancing maternal and child health initiatives. Notably, he spearheaded a collaborative project in Massachusetts that addressed significant shortcomings in maternal and child health. This initiative, which began with seed funding, has grown into a major health collaborative in New England with several million in government funding annually.

From 2003 until 2006, Mr. Doherty served as the director of marketing at JTM Food Group, where he was responsible for overseeing marketing strategies and campaigns. Before that, he was the President and Director of Operations at Reading Restaurants between 1996 and 2002, where he managed overall operations and strategic planning. His career also includes roles as the senior director of operations services at Perkins Restaurant and Bakery from 1993 to 1996 and as the chief human resources officer at TPI Restaurants from 1988 until 1993.

Mr. Doherty's academic background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from the University of Massachusetts Amherst's Isenberg School of Management. As an author and speaker, he has made significant contributions through his podcast and keynote speaking engagements. He is also the author of "Observations at the Speed of Life," a publication that reflects his insights and experiences, and is certified by the Center for Leadership Studies to present Situational Leadership and other courses. He attributes his success to his persistence, a quality that has driven him throughout his career.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Doherty is actively involved in several industry-related organizations.

He has been a Chapter Advisor, a former Alumni Association President and President of the Alpha House Corporation for Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity at the University of Massachusetts Amherst since 2009. He also serves as a board member for Tomorrow's Women TODAY and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.

Mr. Doherty's civic contributions are notable as well. He served as the chair of the board of directors for March of Dimes for several years, and has been involved in fundraising efforts for cystic fibrosis. His dedication to these causes earned him a Top Volunteer of the Year award from March of Dimes and from the Cincinnati Bengals during his time in that city. Looking ahead, he hopes to live a longer life while continuing to make meaningful contributions to his field and community.
