From 2007 to 2015, he was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Scouler & Company. Earlier in his career, Mr. Scouler was a senior Managing Director and founder of FTI Corporate Recovery, a Principal at Policano & Manzo from 1996 to 2000 and a partner at Arthur Young from 1984 to 1988. Prior to moving to the U.S. he was a Partner at the Canadian firm Clarkson Gordon & Co from 1981 to 1984.
Mr. Scouler's career is marked by several significant achievements, including serving as an independent director of NeuVTNeurovascular Technologies and holding various chief restructuring officer roles for various companies, such as Arhaus Furniture, Contessa Premium Foods, Rhythm & Hues, Beall Corp and Hawaii Medical Center. His ability to guide companies through financial distress has been recognized with numerous awards, such as Transaction of the Year for Contessa Premium Foods and the Turn Around Management Award for Z Gallerie.
Mr. Scouler has furthered his professional expertise through membership in the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association. His accounting training has also been pivotal in his success, allowing him to adapt his approach to meet the specific needs of each situation. This adaptability has earned him trust and respect within the industry.
Mr. Scouler's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in business administration and management from Ivey Business School in 1971. He is also a Chartered Professional Accountant certified by CPA Canada.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Scouler enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife Nancy, eleven grandchildren, and sailing in his free time. Looking ahead, he plans for his sons to take over the business while he steps back from daily operations to focus on selective assignments as a consultant.
