December 24, 2024 - SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 180.24 to provide an overview of Thailand’s intention to mandate TIS 998-2553 (2010) as the testing standard for plastic containers for drinking water.
The World Trade Organization (WTO) announced the draft ministerial regulation on December 4, 2024. If adopted, it will apply to containers with a capacity of no more than 20 liters and will become the legal standard 180 days after its publication in the Government Gazette.
SSG publishes SafeGuardS to keep stakeholders informed about regulatory changes that may impact their ability to function. SafeGuardS 180.24 contains a complete overview of the draft regulation, including a table highlighting the requirements.
