In karnataka , Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan has adopted Bizframe's Field Reporter solution, an android mobile based system for its inspection activities.
In August 2012, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in Karnataka introduced Mobile based reporting as part of the 3rd party evaluation of civil works in over 10,000 schools across the state. The system was adopted by PMC companies who do the on-site inspections.
Bizframe Field reporter was adopted by the PMC firms for its readiness and Field tested solution. A key advantage of the system is its ability to record inspections even in absence of mobile connection and send later.
The mobile software data entry forms were customized for SSA requirements which translated into 4 different data entry forms/ proforma that engineers can fill while recording their Quality inspections. Forms have support for signatures, GPS locations and image capture.
When the PMC engineers fill in the mobile forms and send the report, the PMC and SSA office both get a formatted PDF copy of the form, templated to resemble just like the earlier paper forms.
This drastically cut down the turnaround time for reporting and corrective measures, because SSA could get the reports instantly.
The system continues to be used daily and more than 300 reports arrive daily at the office from across the state.
The report data is valuable for the school construction records and can be used to identify work issues later. The department is now planning to set up a digital archives section dedicated to store inspection records.
This deployment represents the cutting edge technology adoption by government agencies to combat increasing demands for regulatory compliance while demonstrating prudent and result oriented expenditure management.
