Due to her vast knowledge and experience, Dr. Ortiz has presented at various conferences regarding barriers affecting the Hispanic community and depression, anxiety, and PTSD amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Ortiz's educational background also reflects her commitment to her field. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Her pursuit of knowledge continued as she became a licensed clinical social worker through the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners and earned a PhD in social work specializing in mental health in the Hispanic community from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX. Her dedication to staying updated with the latest developments in her field is evident in her affiliations with the National Association of Social Workers, the Phi Alpha Honor Society, and the Health Resources & Services Administration.
Given her professional achievements, Dr. Ortiz has been honored many times, earning the Guiding Principles Award from Project BRAVO, the Shaking Hands Award from the Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, and the Member of the Year Award from the Student Association of Social Workers. These accolades are a testament to her dedication and inspire others in the field.
