September 19, 2024 - SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 140.24, highlighting that flammability and tolerance laboratory reports are now required for stuffed toys sold in Pennsylvania.
Effective from August 27, 2024, registration applicants must submit reports showing compliance with sections §47.321, §47.322 and §47.317 of the Stuffed Toy Regulations, using a new application form and including several details, including flammability and tolerance laboratory reports from a Consumer Product Safety Commission-accredited facility.
The application form will also require a declaration that the stuffed toy product has been manufactured without the use of child, forced or slave labor.
SGS experts publish SafeGuardS to keep stakeholders informed about regulatory changes that could impact their business. Interested parties should view SafeGuardS 140.24, which includes further details of Pennsylvania’s Stuffed Toy Regulations and a link to the new application form.
