The Best of May’s New Releases from Storm Warning Entertainment/Code 7 Music

There has been plenty of exciting new music releases hitting the shelves over the past month, and these are just some of the highlights to have come from Nick Hindle’s Storm Warning Entertainment/Code 7 Music distribution network in May:

· Frank Black – Oddballs
A collection of rare gems that will delight Frank Black fans, with previously unheard live tracks and b-sides recorded between 1994 and 1997, during his transition from studio musician to live music purist.

· The Skints – Part and Parcel (Special Delivery)
The Skints have ruled the underground ska/punk scene over the last couple of years, and the band are now ready to break out. Their first album sold more than 7500 copies without any promotion, and this new extended version includes a brand new single and amended artwork.

· Wobbler – Rites at Dawn
This is a repress of the much sought-after 2011 album from Norway’s leading symphonic prog band. Rites at Dawn is as close to the 70s prog rock experience you will get to in the modern day, with vintage sounds and appearances from members of White Willow and Jaga Jazzist making up this stellar and powerful third album from Wobbler.

· Yes – Magnification
Following on from the vinyl release of Open Your Eyes for the first time last year, the 19th studio album from Yes now arrives on vinyl. Originally released in 2001, Magnification represents the first album from Yes as a four-piece, with an orchestra called in to replace the outgoing keyboards, and proving to be a masterstroke, producing an epic album that represented a welcome change of pace.
