Gregory C. Dawdy Honored for Contributions to Environmental Services

GODFREY, IL, August 27, 2024 - Gregory C. Dawdy has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Mr. Dawdy has built a distinguished career in environmental science and biology, currently serving as a science program manager at Tetra Tech, Inc. Since assuming this role in 2017, he has demonstrated exceptional expertise in biological surveys, wetland surveys, endangered species coordination and various permitting processes under the Clean Water Act. His proficiency extends to renewable energy projects, pipeline work and National Environmental Policy Act assessments for the Forest Service across multiple states. His dedication to maintaining strong client relationships has been a cornerstone of his professional success, with two clients benefiting from his services for over 15 years.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Dawdy was a senior biologist and project manager from 1990 to 2017. During this period, he played a pivotal role in numerous Army Corps of Engineers projects, including significant contributions to the Manhattan Project and radiological works. He also led health and safety programs for these initiatives, ensuring compliance and safeguarding all involved parties.

From 1982 to 1987, Mr. Dawdy worked as an environmental scientist at Environmental Science and Engineering Inc., where he honed his skills in environmental impact assessments and biological evaluations. His career began as a biological intern at the Illinois Natural History Survey from 1981 to 1982.

Mr. Dawdy's academic background laid a solid foundation for his professional achievements, earning a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville in 1981. In addition, he is an active member of industry-related organizations, such as the Society of Wetland Scientists, and has previously been affiliated with the American Fisheries Society.

Outside of his career, Mr. Dawdy enjoys freshwater fishing, waterfowl hunting, spending time with his family and gardening. His garden boasts an impressive array of produce, including tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, eggplants, cucumbers, green beans and onions. He is also committed to giving back to his community through civic involvement, donating to The Salvation Army and contributing clothing to Beverly Farm. Looking ahead, he plans to retire in the upcoming years but continues to find great satisfaction in his work.
