Jennifer A. Rhue Recognized for Expertise in Education Diversity

PUYALLUP, WA, July 16, 2024 - Jennifer A. Rhue has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Rhue has dedicated nearly two decades to the field of education, focusing on teaching diversity and cultivating inclusive learning environments. Currently serving as a teacher at Lochburn Middle School since 2017, she demonstrates a steadfast commitment to her students' growth.

Ms. Rhue's journey in education began at Mohave High School, where she spent over a decade shaping young minds. During her tenure, she spearheaded impactful initiatives such as the Every 15 Minutes program, a comprehensive anti-drunk driving campaign focused on high school juniors and seniors, which involved coordination with hospitals, local media, firefighters, and law enforcement.

In addition to her role at Lochburn Middle School, Ms. Rhue has extended her influence in education as an adjunct faculty member at Tacoma Community College since 2020. Her professional trajectory also includes contributions to the Clover Park School District and Mohave Community College.

With a robust academic foundation, Ms. Rhue earned an Associate of Arts in English language and literature from Mohave Community College in 2003, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from Northern Arizona University in 2006 and a Master of Arts in education from Prescott College in 2010. She is also a certified Washington educator.

Ms. Rhue attributes her success to her children's inspiration and her mother's influence, who was also a teacher at Mohave High School. A pivotal moment in her journey was witnessing the impact of an awareness presentation on sexually transmitted diseases she helped her mother prepare following Freddie Mercury's death. The reaction from the students instilled in her a passion for teaching.

In her personal life, Ms. Rhue has encountered both moments of joy and profound tragedy. The loss of her son in 2021 was a devastating experience. However, driven by this tragedy, she has emerged as a motivational speaker for suicide awareness. Through sharing her journey and advocating for mental health support, she endeavors to honor her son's memory and offer hope to others grappling with similar challenges.
