Click Energy has announced a partnership with the US based energy technology company Stem, with a plan to introduce Stem’s electricity controlling system to the Australian market.
Click Energy will be distributing the Stem energy system to its customers so their electricity usage can be charged at an off peak rate, which will subsequently help the customers combat the rising expense associated with peak energy costs.
Stem utilises distributed storage technology that enables businesses to better control their electricity expenses and use the electrical grid more interactively, in order to be more efficient in managing peak usage of electricity. The strength of Stem’s service is in the fact that they provide energy customers and providers with an optimisation service that responds to the customers’ unique consumption and distribution needs.
With Stem’s energy system, efficient energy storage is installed on site, where the power is being consumed. An advanced piece of analytic software is utilised to record all of the power grids low demand and high demand times for each specific location. Based on this data the software can forecast when there is likely to be a peak energy demand and automatically switch the electricity source for the business or residence to the off-grid storage source. This in turn lowers the overall costs of the energy that is currently paid by the customer.
