Additionally, she represents parties in tax matters, prepares individual, partnership, and nonprofit tax returns, and handles ADA, FMLA, age, and pregnancy discrimination cases. Between 2011 and 2024, she served as an assistant secretary and deputy assistant secretary for the Office of Workforce Development, director of compliance programs, administrative law judge manager, and administrative law judge. During her tenure with the Louisiana Workforce Commission, Ms. Morrison oversaw numerous federally-funded workforce development programs with multimillion-dollar budgets, provided administrative leadership regarding the state's Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act, and served as an administrative law judge for the 2015 Client Forum hosted by Equifax Workforce Solutions.
Over the years, Ms. Morrison honed her expertise in law and taxation with the Louisiana Department of Justice, the Internal Revenue Service, Capital Area Legal Services Corp., and Jackson Bell Attorneys. Likewise, she has worked as a paralegal and taught legal writing, security devices, and sales and leasing as an adjunct professor of law at Southern University Law Center. An expert in her field, she earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Louisiana University, a Master of Laws in taxation from The University of Alabama's School of Law, and a JD from Southern University Law Center. Subsequently, Ms. Morrison was admitted to practice through the Louisiana State Bar Association and received several certifications in diversity and inclusion, civil mediation, and more through LinkedIn, the state bar association, and the IRS.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Ms. Morrison aligns herself with the Baker Chamber of Commerce, the Zachery Chamber of Commerce, and the Louisiana State Bar Association. In conjunction with her work, she has also contributed to her community through the West Feliciana Parish Economic Development Board, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and various youth programs. Due to her vast breadth of knowledge, Ms. Morrison has authored such writings as "Equal Opportunity & Nondiscrimination," "ERISA-Defined Employee Benefit Plans: The Difference Between an Employee Welfare Plan & Employee Pension Benefit Plan," and "Innocent Spouse Relief: What Is It and How Does a Taxpayer Get It?"
While her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Morrison takes the most pride in becoming an accomplished attorney. Despite her humble background, she worked hard to achieve her goals.
