India’s leading magazine-‘Steel 360’ acknowledges CASE Group as the first company to present SKBIT Technology in the Steel Market.
Steel 360 is a monthly magazine which covers the various aspects of global steel market including industry analysis, expert opinion, interviews and events. With the onset of a new financial year, the publication took pride to give a special coverage to the ‘CASE SKBIT Technology’. Accordingly, an article (as per interview) has been published in the ‘Tech Speak’ section for the latest print edition- Budget Review 2013-2014.
Steel 360 conducted a short interview with Mr. Roger Kumar, Managing Director of CASE Group. The interview detailed about DRI SKBIT Technology and its key features and benefits. During the interview, Mr. Kumar said, “SKBIT is a boon for secondary steel industry. The other technologies which are based on natural gas (Midrex Vertical Shaft) are viable only with capacities over 1 million tons per year. SKBIT technology manufactures sponge iron from 0.015-0.03 million tons per year. With this technology, there is no need to make pellets which are essentially required for rotary kiln input of iron ore fines. So the basic advantages are economy and pollution. Further, CASE SKBIT process allows the use of huge quantities of iron ore fines lying with units operating rotary kiln.”
The exclusive ‘Tech Speak’ section also covered some technical details of India’s longest DRI Tunnel Kiln (194m). The plant was commissioned by CASE for Mahalaxmi TMT Pvt Ltd in Wardha, Maharashtra.
