Previously, he was the U.S. head of business development and licensing for Pharmascience. In this capacity, he hired eight employees for whom he maintained responsibility, oversaw the company's investments in the U.S. market, and achieved nearly $100 million in revenue. Over the years, Mr. Skoutelas managed large teams, secured millions in sales, procured leads, and prepared and reviewed study protocols for such companies as ChemWerth Inc., MSN Labs, AIT Bioscience, Huntingdon Life Sciences, Clintech Research, and SSPCC, Inc.
An expert in his field, Mr. Skoutelas earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of California, Irvine, in 2005. Subsequently, he expanded his professional knowledge by completing a master's degree in biotechnology from the University of Pennsylvania, where he also managed a consulting team specializing in sales, marketing, regulatory affairs, and research and development for biotechnology startup companies. In conjunction with his work, Mr. Skoutelas donates to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and contributes to others through his local Greek Orthodox Church.
Mr. Skoutelas won the NCAA Scholar-Athlete Award every year between 2001 and 2005 for his professional and athletic achievements. Likewise, he earned the Commercial Star Award from Pharmascience in 2019 and 2022. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in building his company from the ground up through innovative thinking and effective networking. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to his extremely supportive wife, and his parents, who were hardworking Greek immigrants in the United States.
