Alex Goldblum Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Filmmaking

PITTSBURGH, PA, March 08, 2024 - Alex Goldblum has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A seasoned photographer, filmmaker, and author with years of expertise in screenwriting, videography, and more, Mr. Goldblum excels as a filmmaker with the eponymous Goldblum Media. Over the course of nearly two decades, he has produced such documentaries as "The Snake Charmer," which was screened at the Temple Global Conference and the Lahore Theater Festival, and "Visions of the Stone City," which will be broadcast on WQED Pittsburgh, and "The Thin Green Line," which was streamed on Y-Net, a popular Israeli internet site. By leveraging his expertise in documentary film production and editing, he is currently working on a tentatively titled piece, "The Raj of Dhrangadhra," that will complement his photography book of the same name. Throughout his career, Mr. Goldblum's photography has been printed in several publications, including Adbusters Magazine and the New York Times website.

Alongside his work as a filmmaker, Mr. Goldblum serves on the sound and video permit list for the IATSE Local 489 and is an adviser to the Jhallesvar Philanthropic Charitable Trust, a foundation that aims to provide humanitarian relief, medical aid, and food assistance to underprivileged communities in Dhrangadhra, Gujarat, India. Similarly, he is an adviser for His Highness Maharaja Sri Raj Dr. Jayasinhji of Halvad Dhrangadhra. During the early stages of his career, he honed his expertise in video engineering, web development, and education through such organizations as The MediaPreserve, B&H Photo Video, Athletic Training Network, Vault.com, Okayplayer.com, and the Community College of Allegheny County.

An expert in his field, Mr. Goldblum earned a certificate in Spanish from the University of Oviedo, Spain, in 2004. Subsequently, he expanded his professional knowledge by completing a Bachelor of Arts in film and media arts from Temple University and a Master of Arts in media studies from The New School. In conjunction with his work, Mr. Goldblum contributes to his community as a fundraiser and video producer for The Living Theatre and as a frequent donor to his alma maters.

In recognition of his professional achievements, Mr. Goldblum received an honorable mention at the International Student Film and Video Festival of Beijing Film Academy for his experimental video, "I Love You So Much," and won an Award of Recognition from The IndieFEST Film Awards for his film "The Thin Green Line." He was inducted into the Russell Conwell Society at Temple University and the Alvin Johnson Society at The New School. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in leading humanitarian relief efforts that provided vital medical and food assistance to those affected by COVID-19 through the Jhallesvar Philanthropic Charitable Trust. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to his father, Dr. Orin M. Goldblum, a talented amateur photographer and accomplished dermatologist, and his cousin, Neil Benson, a Philadelphia-based found object artist and photographer. He also attributes his success to the education he received at Temple University. Looking toward the future, Mr. Goldblum intends to expand the reach of his book projects and seek out larger audiences for his documentary films.
