FRESNO, TX, March 08, 2024 - Michelle McCain has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Backed by years of professional expertise in education, Dr. McCain excels as an advanced analytics researcher for the Equity Research Team at Western Governors University. In this capacity, she investigates retention rates for Black students and spearheads initiatives that support equitable teaching practices with educators and leaders in virtual learning environments. Similarly, she is the administrator of an online charter high school, where she oversees the multicultural response team. Alongside her work at the University, Dr. McCain is a resume writer through Doc Chelle Consulting.
Before obtaining her current roles with Western Governors University and Doc Chelle Consulting, Dr. McCain gained valuable expertise as an instructional facilitator for the Fort Bend Independent School District, through which she served as a diversity, equity, and inclusion advocate for employees and collaborated with curriculum coordinators to update and improve curriculum. Likewise, Dr. McCain has honed her skills in educational administration, teaching, and more through the Spring Branch, Alief, DeSoto, Grand Prairie, and Fort Worth Independent School Districts.
An expert in her field, Dr. McCain holds a Bachelor of Science in administration of justice from Texas Southern University and a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from Houston Christian University. Subsequently, she expanded her professional knowledge by completing an EdD in educational leadership and management at Capella University, a certification in educational leadership and administration at Lamar University, and teaching certifications in English and reading, special education, and general education through the Texas Education Agency. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. McCain aligns herself with the American Association of Blacks in Higher Education, the Texas Association of Black Personnel in Higher Education, the Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators, and the Texas and National Alliances of Black School Educators.
In conjunction with her work, Dr. McCain dedicates herself to her community as a mentor with Sneaker to Heels, through which she creates advertisements for events, solicits donations, and organizes events. Due to her vast breadth of knowledge, she was chosen to serve as a project contributor for the Fulbright-Hayes Seminar for Education Abroad. In light of her considerable achievements, she received the Linda Lorelle Scholarship through the similarly named foundation and the W.E.B. Dubois Award for Higher Education from the National Alliance of Black School Educators. Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, she credits her success to her focus, willingness to embrace something new, and her grandmother, who gave up her retirement years to raise her. Within the coming years, Dr. McCain intends to become the research director for a similar organization to her current employer.
