NEW YORK, NY, February 28, 2024 - Jonathan E. Taylor has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
At just five years old, Mr. Taylor began working in some capacity, starting at his grandmother's store, which she opened during the 1930s. After she passed away in 1951, the store passed to his grandfather and then his father. Backed by his considerable work ethic, he attended the Rochester Institute of Technology where he studied engineering specializing in artificial intelligence and robotic vision with a minor in mechanical engineering and Japanese language. He then finished his studies at Stevens Institute of Technology. Upon graduating, he went to work for his father and utilized his engineering expertise to further the company's growth. Over the next eight years beginning in 2008, Mr. Taylor helped the company achieve an annual revenue of over $7 million, becoming president in 2015. In 2016, the company was acquired by a competitor; the competitor was generating more than $2.5 billion and Mr. Taylor's family could no longer compete.
During the acquisition, Mr. Taylor realized that his grandmother's business had been operating with a small-business mindset for too long and he wanted to learn about the larger world of finance. Being a career changer, he started at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, gaining valuable financial expertise. He held several roles including Financial Representative, Field Director, Growth & Development Director, and PX Plan Automation Co-Creation Team Lead. Drawing on his vast experience, Mr. Taylor excels today as a Financial Advisor, Field Technology Committee Member, and the Integrated Consumer Products Committee Chair.
Mr. Taylor is a "Damn Proud" member of the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity and the Sigma Chapter of the Theta Gamma Charitable Fund, Inc. Outside of his work, he contributes to those less fortunate through Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, the New York Public Library, his chosen alma mater RIT, and the Leadership Council of Special Olympics New York.
In recognition of his many achievements, Mr. Taylor has been honored through Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance and Wealth Management Company with several awards, starting with breaking the New York State records for Pacesetter 40 & Second 60, but also including multiple Life Impact Awards, New Advisor Awards (Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum), and Top 50 Case Quantity Awards, to name a few. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in achieving Northwestern Mutual's top honor in 2021, which allowed him to share his accomplishments with the cornerstone of his success: his parents, who have been his role models since he was young. Another accomplishment of which he is proud is being an accomplished author in financial planning, and a national speaker.
Mr. Taylor aims to create something that will last for generations, and looks forward to the future.
