DES MOINES, IA, February 23, 2024 - Joel Worsfold has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Backed by over 35 years of professional expertise and awards in the financial industry, Mr. Worsfold excels as the managing director, partner, and wealth adviser for Carson Wealth in Des Moines, Iowa.
First and foremost, Mr. Worsfold wants to get to know his clients. As a wealth advisor, he guides clients through a systemized, highly personalized process of investment planning called a Wealth Plan. Then he works to develop and review his client's financial goals—and life goals—to set clear expectations for designing a portfolio. This personalized approach is the first step to "connect your wealth with purpose."
For those who have reached retirement, the second and most important step in a Wealth Plan involves deaccumulation. What is deaccumulation, you may ask? Think about descending Mount Everest, arguably the most difficult portion of the climb. This is the same as divesting your retirement savings in the most tax efficient way to maximize the longevity of your assets. Carson Wealth has a system in place to guide clients as they descend into retirement.
Mr. Worsfold's formal process for gathering and responding to feedback is to have semi-annual appointments with his clients so he can work through their individual Wealth Plans (retirement plans) and address feedback/questions along with gathering any new information. He intentionally limits his team's number of households per advisor. This allows them to provide deeper dives into the details for all of their clients.
As advisors, Mr. Worsfold and his team are trained to listen for clues and new action items when communicating with their clients. Each contact point is an opportunity to learn something new or follow-up on an experience. Everything then is documented in their contact management system and can be referred to at a later date.
One of the things that makes Mr. Worsfold's firm unique is their "Retirement Advisory Committee," a resource that pairs newly retired clients (mentees) with clients (mentors) who have been in retirement for a while. Mentees can ask questions about retirement and how to mentally transition from the workforce to retirement. During these sessions, they cover things like living arrangements, social networks, budgets, interests, etc. It's a secure place to discuss anything and everything to help one get acclimated (physically and emotionally) to the retirement lifestyle which isn't easy for most.
Mr. Worsfold's passion is to help clients find their vision of true wealth. That means helping define what true wealth looks like for them and putting a plan in place to help pursue their vision. They do this through their commitment to service. From investment management and retirement planning to estate planning and legacy solutions. Mr. Worsfold's goal is to help clients reach their goals and connect their wealth with purpose. He doesn't want this to sound cliché but he has been at the bedside of several clients during the death process and he's seen firsthand the regrets they have for accumulating so many assets but not living the life they really wanted. For example, they maybe only accomplished three of their ten bucket list items. Mr. Worsfold truly wants to help his clients not have ANY regrets in life.
An expert in his field, Mr. Worsfold is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, a Chartered Life Underwriter®, a Chartered Financial Consultant, and a Retirement Income Certified Professional®.
Outside of his work, it is important to Mr. Worsfold to give back to local schools and specifically children in need, helping lower-income children with nutrition, clothing, and a comfortable home life. Social economic equality among our children promotes a healthy learning environment and prepares them for a better future. His firm does this quietly and their goal is to help a family each month. This has been a passion of Mr. Worsfold's for many years and the experiences are overwhelming. Two other community involvement projects that his firm partners with are the Dreamweaver Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fulfilling life-long dreams for terminally ill seniors in need, and Orchard Place, which offers comprehensive mental health and behavioral health services designed specifically for children and adolescents.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Worsfold takes the most pride in his interpersonal relationships with others in the industry. The cornerstone of his success lies with his parents, who instilled in him a passion for what he does and the importance of living by the golden rule. As an example of his highlights, Mr. Worsfold was named one of Barron's Top 1,200 Advisors by State in 2017 and 2018, and a Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisor in 2018, just to name a few.
Mr. Worsfold and his wife, Linette, enjoy spending quality time with their children – Kayla, Mercedes and Nolan – and traveling. He is also a big fan of fast cars, and enjoys woodworking, movies and fitness.
