An accomplished attorney with years of experience in constitutional and intellectual property law, Mr. Hansen gained valuable expertise with the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office and the Dewey Ballentine Law Firm during the early stages of his career. Subsequently, he honed his professional experiences as a clerk to Judge Murray I. Gurfein of the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and Judge Inzer B. Wyatt of the District Court for the Southern District of New York. Throughout his career, Mr. Hansen has achieved much, drafting the AT&T response to the Department of Justice's Antitrust Division regarding why it should not seek a breakup of AT&T.

Due to his vast breadth of knowledge, Mr. Hansen served as a law professor at Fordham Law School until his retirement in 2024. As an educator, he taught classes in intellectual property, copyright, trademark, and European Union and international intellectual property law. For more than two and a half decades, he also taught U.S. constitutional law. Throughout his tenure with Fordham, he established the Fordham Intellectual Property Law Institute and the Fordham Annual Conference on Intellectual Property Law and Policy. Additionally, Mr. Hansen has been a visiting professor at Melbourne University and a fellow at the Queen Mary Research Institute in London.
