BENNINGTON Green have completed a substantial refurbishment project for Superior at their main offices on the Ferndown Industrial Estate in Wimborne, Dorset.

The building known as the “Academy” was officially opened by HRH Duke of Kent and includes a classroom for the Superior apprentices, a technology office and “state of the art” meeting and presentation facilities.

Bennington Green, the lead consultant for both the original construction at the site in 2000 and the new Academy refurbishment, are delighted with the outcome. The Bournemouth based building consultancy practice, were responsible for the complete refurbishment of the existing area to create the Academy, which involved major demolitions, whilst ensuring that the building works did not interrupt other areas of operation.

Damon Green, the founder of Bennington Green said: “We have a long standing association with Superior and over the years our commitment to focussing on the key drivers of time, quality and budget on all our projects has proved to be very successful for this high profile client”.

Bennington Green co-ordinated the full design package; from the borehole drilling for the ground source heat pump installation to the installation of solar panels.

The existing external wall and roof panels were over clad and triple glazed windows were imported specially from Italy, to deliver a modern and highly efficient and environmentally friendly refurbishment.

Nigel Soloman, Managing Director of Bennington Green said: “We are very proud of our involvement with the Academy project. The construction works were being carried out under the guidelines of the Considerate Constructions Scheme and also included us obtaining planning approval, Building Regulations consent and finalising BREEAM submissions to target a green rating of ‘Outstanding’ for the project”.

Background

Bennington Green was established in 1992 by Damon Green.

In August 2005, the company was acquired by Nigel Soloman, a Chartered Engineer, and Keith Kirkwood, a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Bennington Green Ltd was created.

Last year they acquired Richard Neale Associates and both Damon Green - one of the leading Chartered Building Surveyors in the area - and Richard Neale continue to provide consultancy services to the business.
