DENVER, CO, January 26, 2024 - Ari Collins, SA-C, has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. Ms. Collins is a certified surgical first assistant and has been working in healthcare for more than twenty years. She has been employed by UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital since 2020. She has acquired advanced levels of training in the following specialties: pediatric neurosurgery, spine, ortho, sports medicine, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, robotics, urology, and gynecology surgery. Ari has acted in team lead roles along with assisting the nurse and surgical technician in prepping the surgical room, assisting surgeons during procedures, and transferring each patient to the recovery room following procedures.
Deriving a sense of satisfaction in positively impacting her patients, Ms. Collins remains committed to her field despite facing various challenges throughout her career in health care.
Before joining UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital, she was affiliated with the UCHealth Steadman Hawkins Clinic Denver from 2020 to 2022, which is dedicated to orthopedics, physical therapy, and rehabilitation. Prior to that, Ms. Collins worked as an independent Surgical Assistant for various surgeons around the Denver Metro Area from 2019 to 2021. She acquired her first job as an SA with Kaiser Permanente from 2016 to 2018 and acted as the neurosurgery assistant coordinator/CST III at Children's Hospital Colorado from 2002 to 2016.
Eager for the future of her career in the industry, Ms. Collins is presently being considered for a new position as an Administrative Lead where she would help oversee a surgical first assistant team on the East Coast. This opportunity would enable her to further showcase her expertise and leadership skills.
Ms. Collins has also found success in entrepreneurship as the owner of a small organic soap-based business called Harmony Blends. She aims to expand her business on a larger scale in the future. In addition, she is also currently training to become a certified licensed PMU and paramedical tattoo artist.
Besides her professional endeavors, Ms. Collins has done volunteer work for the Denver Rescue Mission in its meal service and clothing department.
Ms. Collins graduated with an associate degree in Surgical Technology from Cambridge College in 1999. She garnered her certification as (TS-C) through the National Center for Competency Testing in 2002. Ari completed two years of undergrad studies in a Bachelor's Health Sciences program offered by South University. Additionally, she received her certification as a Surgical Assistant from The Royal Academy of Surgical Assisting in 2015 and holds a national (SA C) license through the American Board of Surgical Assistants.
In light of her success, Ms. Collins' efforts and contributions have been recognized by her peers, AORN Outpatient Magazine and Diversity In Action Magazine where she has used her platform to raise awareness about issues pertaining to DEI topics in healthcare.
