ALPHARETTA, GA, January 24, 2024 - Markita S. Young, DNM, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Since early adulthood, Dr. Young's career trajectory has been informed by observing the challenges faced by herself and those around her and by her enduring motivation to assist and support others. Her keen interest and commitment to the field of plant-based medicine became particularly evident after witnessing the positive effects it had on both her sister, when she experienced health challenges, and for herself in healing injuries sustained in a car accident. By leaning into the principles and applications of this form of medicine, Dr. Young found significant benefits and thus embarked on a formal journey in integrative and holistic health.
After obtaining a bachelor's degree and a Doctor of Medicine from Quantum University, Dr. Young officially commenced her career in integrative medicine and joined Brikho Ventures, where she currently practices. During the COVID-19 pandemic, her expertise in plant-based medicine proved invaluable. For her efforts, sharing her knowledge and assisting individuals, she gained recognition from notable entities, such as Johnson & Johnson and individuals of high academic standing, who sought to learn from her.
As a result of her work during that period of time, Dr. Young's name become well-known across various communities, both nationally and internationally. For her work, she received recognition on International Women's Day in 2022, following her interview with the Podcast News Radio Station. In all facets of her work, Dr. Young's overarching objective is to cultivate an awareness among individuals regarding the potency of plans; her conviction in the therapeutic potential of plants, and their capability to foster healing and restore the alignment of the human body without causing harm, underpins her philosophy and her perspective.
Prior to entering into the field of integrative and holistic medicine, Dr. Young had gained vast career experience in managerial and leadership positions, holding the role of general manager at various companies, and owning and operating a Middle Eastern restaurant in connection with the Global Hands Corporation, a nonprofit organization she founded to addressing malnutrition in children across the Middle East. As both a hospitality enterprise and nonprofit organization, her restaurant, which she still runs, compliments her venture in plant-based medicine: A portion of the proceeds from the restaurant goes directly toward initiatives in the United States and another percentage is allocated to furnish plant-based medicine for children in the Middle East. Alongside this philanthropic work, Dr. Young's primary humanitarian focus is toward initiatives that benefit the individual and communities of Syria.
