CHESTER, VA, January 22, 2024 - Linda Hawkins has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Inspired to take on the human trafficking epidemic after reading "Undaunted: Daring to Do What God Calls You to Do," Ms. Hawkins excels as the founding owner of Recover Hope, Inc., which focuses on combating human trafficking by raising awareness for families, communities, law enforcement, and the justice system. With the help of considerable funding, she hopes to open a two-year, cost-free residence for survivors of human trafficking by addressing their physical, mental, and emotional needs. Upon completing the program, participants receive support to reintegrate into society, including entrepreneurial and educational opportunities. In her work as president and chief executive officer, Ms. Hawkins establishes strategic partnerships with diverse groups to secure funding for her organization.
Before founding Recover Hope, Ms. Hawkins worked as the director of marketing for Taylor Made Chocolate. During the early stages of her career, she gained valuable professional expertise as a clinical coordinator for VCU Health Departments of Dermatology and Spine Center. For three decades, she also worked as a cardiac nurse. Although she stepped back from bedside nursing, Ms. Hawkins maintains her license and continues to leverage her nursing experience in her work with Recover Hope.
An expert in her field, Ms. Hawkins holds an Associate of Science in registered nursing from the Richard Bland College of William & Mary and a registered nurse diploma from the Petersburg General Hospital School of Nursing in 1980. Subsequently, she expanded her professional knowledge by completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Ms. Hawkins aligns herself with the Virginia Commonwealth University Alumni Association, the Virginia Coalition Against Human Trafficking, the American Nurses Association, and the Virginia Nurses Association. In conjunction with her work, she contributes to her community as a zone leader with Life CO Church. For her outstanding achievements, Ms. Hawkins received the Nonprofit of the Month Award from the Southern Virginia Chamber of Commerce for Recover Hope's considerable impact in the community.
While her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Hawkins takes the most pride in fighting human trafficking. The cornerstone of her success lies in her steadfast faith and the support of her mother, who had been her biggest cheerleader for her entire life, until her passing in 2022. Looking forward, she aims to extend support to men and children through Recover Hope as they, too, can become victims of human trafficking.
