His extensive experience also includes a long-standing relationship with the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he was employed from 1983 to 2006. Mr. Brown served as Manager of the Georgia Tech EDA Center in providing economic, business and market development services for businesses in Georgia. He also served as Outreach Manager for the Georgia Tech Electronic Commerce Resource Center focusing on helping businesses utilize the internet as a tool to identify, target and develop governmental business opportunities. Notably, during his tenure with Georgia Tech, he was a primary founder of Business Retention Expansion International (BREI) and later became its third president, contributing significantly to the economic development sector. Upon leaving Georgia Tech, he established LeScot Enterprises and serves as President and Owner to this day. He has served in various consulting and training capacities to include the Fulton County Development Authority, the University of Georgia, Georgia State University, Stover and Associates, and numerous other small business consulting, training and business development assignments. Prior to these roles, Mr. Brown co-owned AMTAR Incorporated from 1977 to 1982 and gained valuable industry experience at General Motors in final assembly and quality control. His early professional years were marked by an athletic stint in a semi-professional football league for several years in Michigan.
Mr. Brown's career is highlighted by several significant achievements, including the attainment of his Master of Business Administration degree, which was a challenging endeavor. Additionally, he was honored with induction into his college's Hall of Fame for football in 2006 and served the organization as Treasurer. He was captain of his college football team during his 1972-73 senior year.
Transitioning from his professional accolades to his academic foundation, Mr. Brown's educational background laid the groundwork for his success. He earned a Master of Business Administration from Clark Atlanta University in 1978 after completing coursework from 1976 to 1978. Prior to this achievement, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 1972. His education has been instrumental in equipping him with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in his field.
Mr. Brown's commitment to community development is evident through his support for the Development Authority of Fulton County. His involvement has undoubtedly contributed to both his personal success and the betterment of the community.
