His scholarly pursuits led him to co-author in 2018 the book, A Noble and Independent Course, an account of the life of Rev. Edward Mitchell, the first person of African descent to graduate from Dartmouth College and the Ivy League in 1828. This work reflects Dr. Lee's deep interest in history and his commitment to uncovering and sharing important narratives that have shaped the medical profession.

In addition to his academic research interests, Dr. Lee is passionate about doing family research and genealogy research. He is driven by a desire to gain a deeper understanding of his ancestors and the challenges they faced. Dr. Lee has been honored with three awards recognizing his contributions to medicine and academia.
