LA JOLLA, CA, November 16, 2023 - Glenn A. Clark has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
After retiring from a successful career in automobile restoration and real estate, Mr. Clark established himself as a notable writer. Having garnered initial success by publishing his poetry in the La Jolla Light, a local publication in La Jolla, California, over 70 years ago, he subsequently published a significant collection of other works, including five books.
Among his most recent works, Mr. Clark released "Mayhem and Monkeyshines" via Archway Publishing. Catering to a younger audience, the book tells the story of three young girls who become connected by a magical medallion that allows them to travel through time and space. The adventurous tale of triumph over evil was notably inspired by author C.S. Lewis.
Reading and writing for most of his life, Mr. Clark developed a passion for the field while in high school. Following a severe illness that resulted in him having to remain in bed for nearly two years, he began reading classics and writing poetry and short stories. At age 25, he authored his first book, "Cantaloupe Paper," an autobiography and entertaining story about his life while coming of age in La Jolla. Mr. Clark subsequently began publishing works of poetry in literary magazines. Ultimately, he started penning books.
During his diverse career, Mr. Clark garnered recognition as a race car driver. He was also heavily involved in antique automobile restoration in Reno, Nevada, served as a researcher at Scripps Institute of Oceanography, and spent time as a professional realtor in La Jolla for two decades.
To further advance his writing skills, Mr. Clark ventured to New York to study under a mentor for several years. His successive success as a poet and author, he notes, has been due to his ability to think independently, his Christian faith, and his dedication to pursuing his own beliefs and interests with passion and determination. At 93, Mr. Clark is now resolved to be more focused on enjoying a relaxing lifestyle where he can reflect on his life's work with a sense of accomplishment.
