Shortly thereafter, she established a premier hospice and adult care home where she provided tender, cutting-edge care and support to families during their most difficult times for over a decade. As her career progressed, her dedication to helping individuals heal and grow led to a profession in counseling. Additionally, as a prolific writer, Dr. Kolehmainen has published numerous books, including "The Functional Addict's Freedom Formula," "How to Walk in YOUR Anointing," "Napping in Delilah's Lap" and more.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Kolehmainen pursued an education at Portland State University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in French. She continued her academic efforts at Pacific University, earning a master's degree in occupational therapy in 2002. Dr. Kolehmainen later attended the Newburgh Theological Seminary and College of the Bible, where she attained a Doctor in Philosophy in biblical counseling in addiction in 2020.
As a commitment to her field, Dr. Kolehmainen was certified in trauma counseling, licensed as a registered occupational therapist, and is a pastoral sex addiction professional. She also leads individuals to freedom from tech addiction. Additionally, she has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the Occupational Therapy Association of Oregon, the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals, and the Cascade Christian Writers Association. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Dr. Kolehmainen speaks to faith-based and secular groups and holds powerful, life-changing annual retreats for women, empowering them in numerous topics.
Among her professional accomplishments, Dr. Kolehmainen is most proud to have established a formula for freedom from addiction called the Functional Addict's Freedom Formula. Reflecting on her career, she attributes her success to her Christian faith, her incredible African upbringing, her family, an unstoppable sense of purpose, and a plethora of divine giftings.
