PHOENIXVILLE, PA, October 17, 2023 - Elizabeth Walton, CKD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Walton is the principal designer and chief executive officer of Liz Walton Home, a luxury residential kitchen, bath, and interior design company. From a young age, residential interior design captivated her—and this passion only intensified through her schooling and first professional experiences. After graduating from Baldwin High School in Pittsburgh, receiving her high school diploma in 2000, Ms. Walton went on to attend Drexel University, in Philadelphia, and earn a Bachelor of Science in interior design in 2004. Upon graduating at the top of her class and receiving a national honor for her education, she worked as a designer for Design Studio Interiors LLC, in Linwood, New Jersey, from 2004 to 2008.
At Design Studio Interiors, LLC, Ms. Walton developed an affinity for kitchen and bath interior design specifically, which led her to pursue and achieve a certification as a certified kitchen designer (CKD) through the National Kitchen and Bath Association, the equivalent of a master's degree in cabinetry. This launched her into her work as a cabinet representative. The mentorship she had while working at Design Studio Interiors LLC ultimately illuminated various aspects of the industry, which helped prepare her for the next phase of her career. Spurred by the changes that come with marriage and the challenges of the Great Recession, which led to widespread business closures and limited employment opportunities, Ms. Walton departed from the firm and leveraged her skills, education, and passion for working with individuals by establishing her own business in 2009.
As an industry professional with two decades of experience, and a member of the International Furnishings and Design Association, Ms. Walton is a regular voice and contributor featured in Kitchen & Bath Industry. Outside of this publication, she has also appeared in numerous media outlets, including Architectural Digest, The Washington Post, Homes & Gardens, My Domaine, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Spruce, and Martha Stewart Living. Ms. Walton attributes the success she has found over the course of her career thus far to her persistence and positive attitude.
Through Liz Walton Home, Ms. Walton offers creative problem-solving solutions for high-profile, professional families. Day to day, she draws on her wealth of transferrable skills to address not only the projects she undertakes but also to effectively resolve any challenges that may arise. Her responsibilities and duties as the lead designer and chief executive officer include managing calls with clients, supervising a valued team of five female employees, attending on-site visits, interacting with clients to learn more about them and their design preferences in order to execute a design that reflects their lifestyle and personalities, and organizing presentations and materials for her firm's designs.
Outside of her business, Ms. Walton volunteers at her church, Wayne Presbyterian Church, in Wayne, Pennsylvania, where she devotes a large part of her time and efforts. She is an elder, deacon, and a Sunday school teacher. Through her church, she is also affiliated with Cornerstone Christian Academy and supports and advocates for a student in the southwest part of Philadelphia, an economically disadvantaged region plagued by high levels of violence, by collaborating with their school and dedicating her time to volunteering there.
From a business perspective, Ms. Walton's greatest fulfillment comes from her substantial base of repeat clients. Given her lack of formal business training, she is proud of the client base she has built and retained. Her achievements in an industry traditionally dominated by men also adds to her sense of accomplishment. As a member of WSource, a networking group for women, she capitalizes on opportunities to collaborate with other women in business. Married for 16 years, outside of being a businesswoman, mother to her two school-aged children is her most cherished role.
Moving forward, Ms. Walton's 10-year vision includes aiming to grow her business by means of expanding her team. Since her firm has the reputation of a sought-after boutique specializing in kitchen and bath design, she wants to grow her team, onboarding five additional professionals, in order to undertake all the significant projects coming her way. Her hope is to continue to take the Philadelphian design world by storm, without sacrificing the flexibility and standard that her business has set.
