YOUNGSTOWN, OH, October 04, 2023 - Matthew Shannon has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Drawing on years of expertise in community development project strategy, Mr. Shannon presently excels as the executive director of Empowerment Advocates International (EAI). Since founding EAI in 2003, he has maintained daily communication with the organization's programs in Cambodia and Madagascar, raised funds for the projects and programs, and liaised with other leaders in the field. A strategic international project developer, Mr. Shannon has helped build orphanages, safe houses, schools, water wells, and more from the ground up.
Through Empowerment Advocates International, Mr. Shannon has completed 2,000 water wells, 150 homes, including an entire village of 78 homes on the border of Vietnam and Cambodia, 50 fish farms, a safe house, an orphanage, and a school that has since educated 350 students in Cambodia. Additionally, EAI established a feeding and education program for street children that fed and empowered 800 children every day for seven years distributing over 1.4 million meals in the capital city of Antananarivo, Madagascar. He led medical teams consisting of hundreds of individuals from the United States to Madagascar to set up and run medical teams that helped the impoverished to free medical care and corrective eyeglasses. Mr. Shannon also contributes to those less fortunate through other charities in Southeast Asia and Madagascar.
Mr. Shannon holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Technology Systems from the University of the Nations, in Kialua, Kona, Hawaii, in 1997. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in operating his organization's main feeding program for impoverished children at a safe house in Pusat, Cambodia. The safe house is also used for wonderful projects and programs designed to empower the poorest of the poor to become "nation changers." Mr. Shannon loves to see individuals that he helped raise from early childhood through his orphanage become thriving adult leaders and professionals in communities where they were previously destined to live hopeless and impoverished lives. They have become nation changers. The cornerstone of his success lies in staying true to his vision from God to feed and empower those in need around the world and relying on the unfailing support and faithfulness of his loving family, friends and partners around the world. Within the next 5 years, Mr. Shannon intends to obtain a 100-acre plot of land in Central Florida where he can establish a commercially run fish farm and fish processing plant in order to produce organic food for hungry children in the USA and abroad.
